30,400 IT jobs created in the first quarter according to Janco
IT hiring ticks up as most of the jobs lost due to Covid and shut-downs have been recovered
Park City – UT– e-janco.com – According to an analysis by Janco, there has been growth in the IT job market each of the past eight (8) months.

IT Job Market grew by 2,300 jobs last month - 2,800 YTD

Analysis shows that IT Job Market has shrunk by 48,600 jobs in 2023. In the first two month of 2024 the IT job market grew by 2,400.
The CEO of Janco Associates, Inc., Mr. M. Victor Janulaitis said, “There is great news for IT Professionals. Companies have hired back almost all of the IT Pros who lost jobs as the shut-downs are ending and vaccines are available. Since August of last year, over 100K jobs have been added for IT Professionals. 30,400 of those jobs were added in the first quarter of this year.”
Janulaitis added, “We believe, with the increase in government spending and the desire to rapidly get back to normal operations, the total IT job market will continue to expand rapidly in the second quarter as more businesses open and get back to normal operations. “
The CEO followed up with, “We forecast that close to 100K new IT jobs will be added by the end of the 4th quarter of this year. CIOs now are no longer in survival mode. Now they are looking ahead to the post-pandemic operating environment. “
IT Job Market Flat for FY 2024
There now are approximately 96K unemployed IT Professionals. The IT job market shrank by over 48,600 jobs in CY 2023. Overall that is a flattening of the long term growth rate pattern of IT job market.
