How can we speed up the process to download the log files?

 

 

 

Updates to Software We release new versions when ever a bug fix is applied or an enhancement added. At any time you can download the latest version manually and over install it.

During the installation, if the system does not have the 2.0 .Net Framework installed, the installation will attempt to install the framework from the Internet. If there is no Internet connection, the installation will fail. To get around this limitation, simply download the 2.0 .Net Framework from Microsoft’s web site at:

 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displaylang=en

 Once you have downloaded the package, install it. Once installed, re-run the NEV installation.

 Every time you start the NEV user interface, it checks our site for the latest version. If there is no Internet connection, no error messages are displayed and the program continues normally. It will be up to your IT department to manually check for patches.

 

 

 

 

 

Network Event Viewer installs on some PC's but not others The Network Event Viewer requires .net.  The installation of all version from 10.0.0.10 install .net automatically.  Get the latest version from the download button above.  Or you can get .net framework directly from Microsoft.

Validate that you have version 10.0.0.10,  if you do not then Get the latest version from the download button above.  Or you can get .net framework directly from Microsoft.

How can we speed up the process to download the log files?  From the menu bar select Tools | Options. Select which log files you want to download. Unselect display logs after download. Deselecting this option will simple download the content. Once downloaded, click the Merge toolbar item. This will display the contents of all the selected computers in the network view. Once you've downloaded the files and you feel you no longer need the content you can remove the log file contents on the remote systems. In doing this, you will not be able to review the log file contents anymore, however you won't have to keep downloading the same content you already reviewed. A side effect is more free drive space on your remote system.
