How can I tell what version and build number I have?

You can tell what version and what build number you have by clicking on the about box.  The version and build number are listed there.

How come I only can see 4 shares?

You have a single user license.  In order to have more than four (4) shares you will have to upgrade your license to a server, network or enterprise version.  This can be done done over the internet by ordering an upgrade.  One your payment is processed a new registration number will be e-mailed to you.

This can be done by clicking on the order button.

How come I can map to a share but DSM can not access the drive?

The device or drive that you are trying to access may not allow the userid and password that service is logged on with to access it.  The solution is to have a "common" userid and password that has access rights on all of the devices or drives that the DiskMonitor will access.

You must have administrative rights to do this.  If you do not, talk to your system administrator.

How can I map to the C$ shares?

You need to have the network version of the DiskMonitor.

From the 'My Network Places' tree item expand to the server of interest and the $ share, right click on the share, and select 'Add Share'. The share will now show up under the Shares root level tree item

You must have administrative rights to do this.  If you do not, talk to your system administrator.

How come I can not map to remote device shares?

In order to access remote drives the service and GUI must be installed under an account that has the appropriate rights. For example if you are trying to access a server with your personal account but the server only allows the network administrator account to access the drives you won’t be able to retrieve the information. Make sure the service account is installed with the appropriate rights. If the GUI doesn’t show the values, then the account you are logged in under doesn’t have the appropriate rights to access the drives.

How can I get an alert every hour?

DiskMonitor won't send an email out every hour unless you clear the alert out manually.
